About Me

I love being able to build students’ confidence in their reading skills. Reading is one of my own personal joys in life, and I am passionate about helping students to find their own reading path. I use a variety of interactive and multisensory reading activities to engage and motivate students.

About Me

I have over 15 years of experience in education. Most recently, I worked at elementary schools as a Reading Intervention Teacher and a Reading Specialist. Now I work full- time as private tutor. I have worked with students with a range of academic skills as well as those with learning challenges, including but not limited to dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, ADD, and memory and processing disorders. While my expertise lies in reading, I also teach handwriting, spelling, and elementary writing and math.
In order to share my love for reading, I have a children’s literature Instagram account. I create and maintain book recommendation lists for my clients and the general public, accessible through my website and GoodReads.
In my free time, I enjoy being active and spending time in nature. Music is an important part of my life as I play the violin and the piano. I currently live with my husband in Pleasant Hill, California.
